DD has a top 10 list that has fluctuated over the past year or so. Ran into a few issuse with coaches leaving schools so had to start the communication process all over. Has one D-1 offer as a preferred walk on but get books and coach mentioned athletic money over the remaining years and is going to put together projected monies per year. This school was not on her list as we were looking mainly at D2/D3 schools but they saw her play, got the invite for a tryout, and got the offer.

The D2/D3 schools seem to be very interested but not making any moves, so we are just riding the wave so to speak. Keep communicating with them and hope to find the right school. Her grades are very good so that helps.

One question my wife and I were wondering, can DD still communicate with coaches and possible visits during high school softball season? Also, if you go to a college game do you need to fill out any admissions paperwork to talk to coach? We've been to some softball games but never approached coaches before.

We went and watched a lot of college games while BB was in HS season. You have to keep in mind that a visiting coach can't talk to you off of their campus if your dd is not a senior. For us, BB knew girls on the various teams we went to see from camps and so, they would walk to the bus talking to her.

Part of the reason I asked-DD was filling out a recruiting form at one of the schools she is interested in and there was a question asking what other schools you are looking at, but there wasn't enough room to list 4 other schools. (she wound up abbreviating one)

Yes, you can communicate with college coaches during high school season. Their emails don't turn off nor do their phones. Now if you go to a game and expect to talk to a coach don't be surprised if you get brushed off unless it was prearranged with your TB coach or someone else. They are kind of busy with running their teams.
