Welp... the time is here. Taking K out of school tomorrow (not real happy about that) to head down the interstate to take an unofficial visit early in the morning. HC sent the itinerary on Monday. School is a historically solid upper/mid D1 going to a 8 or so NCAAs over the past 15 years, and clearly in her top 2. Hoping for a fair offer, and then a big exhale on the recruiting trail.

She's a 2019 OF, but I'm very much in the camp of having coaches wait until the Jr/Sr year to make offers. I know that K will be a much better player in 1-2 years, than she is now.

Wish her/us luck :)

Here's how you seal the deal... After the tour and sit down, when the coach asks if she has any more questions say, "Yes, who wants to race?!!" ;). Tell her good luck from the east side of the state! Definitely let us know how it goes.

Best of luck! Looking forward to hearing how it went.

I have a stupid question. What's the difference between and official and unofficial visit? If the coach is sending an itinerary along with meetings and a possible offer, what is it that makes this still unofficial? #much2learn

It's unofficial because K is not a senior yet, and nothing is "paid" by the school, it is all on us to make transportation, lodging, etc on our dime. You can take/request as many unofficial visits as you want. In our case, all communications have gone through our TB coach. It's been kind of amusing seeing all the go-between. No offer yet, we will see about that tomorrow. :)

To add to this, when a recruit is on either an official or unofficial visit on campus, the coaching staff can talk to the recruit. They rules are different with younger players playing in tournaments away from the coaching staff's school.
