I have to say that it is humbling to see the success of the dds of so many of our members. The past few year's NLI Day and this year's signees demonstrates the quality of the membership here. In reading all of the various threads, it makes me proud to be a member here. Congratulations to all past and present!

Unless I've just missed the posts in prior years, it seems like this was a big year for DFP DD's. Really neat to see! Congrats to all!

It's exciting and motivating for my DD - and I love the smiling faces of the hard-working young women. It gives me hope for the future when I see all the empowered, strong leaders being unleashed on the world!

I agree with cannonball, I have been a member long enough that I have witnessed the growth
of the now college age girls from the time they were awkward 10U players. It is also a great thing to see
the parents and coaches who have given and taken advice and the parents who have grown
from the maniacal 'My DD is the next Jennie Finch' to the humble and gracious dads and moms who have
taken a wild ride on the Softball rollercoaster who are now thankful that their daughters have reached the true
pinnacle of the sport as college players. We have all found the true meaning of travel ball and the thousands of miles
and $$ as well as hundreds of hours forging relationships with our daughters that will have memories to last a lifetime.

Although I miss seeing my daughter daily and spending road trips with her, I am content in seeing
her live her dream; playing the sport that she loves while getting the education that will vault her into
a great career. I too am thankful that I stumbled upon this forum thousands of threads ago.

I am so happy to see the successes of these young women and their families! It is very, very cool!

As an addendum to my recent post; the spending on SB does not end in college,
it is merely redirected in plane fares and hotel stays in the spring, allowing us
the summers to recuperate.:)

Thought I'd resurect this thread some and comment (Brag) about my kid not that I have ever done that before. The kid was asked to sub in a slow pitch softball game. As some of you might know, she played some slowpitch last year and ended up with something like a .800 BA. This was different. She played last year on the other side of St. Louis where few knew her. This time, she played in our area where everyone knew her. When she came up the first time, she hit a shot at the pitcher that was caught. Self preservation at its best. The second at bat was a popup. After that, she lit it up. One guy that graduated with her told his teammates to scoot back when she came up and they didn't listen. She took one off the top of the 300 fence. The next time up, they didn't listen and so, the same. She ended the night 8 for 10 and 8 doubles. When asked why she didn't get any triples after she hit the ball off the fence each time, she said, "I don't do speed. I do power." LOL

Dude! That's awesome!

I would've done 2 cart wheels watchin' that ball bounce off of the top of that 300' fence
I wanna see video footage of your reaction when she hits one out on that 300' field! :D
