My DD is having a signing event 9 Nov at her high school with 3 of her school ball teammates, as well as athletes from other sports. Do kids just sign a blank piece of paper at these type of events for pictures, or do they sign their actual NLI? I guess it's up to the kids/parents, but curious what other folks on this forum have done / will do for their DDs. Main concern is to keep private information from nosey/prying eyes to protect the kid's, as well as the school's information. Just wondering...

I was wondering same. My DD is going D3 so we know there wont be a NLI to sign but she wants to show off like everyone else. What do we do?

Ask the AD if your DD and other D3 commits can join the signings. If not have a little ceremony with your club program or at the college itself and post pictures on their website. One advantage of D3 is her new coaches can be at the signing.

The signing event at the school is nothing more than a photo-op. Just have your dd put her signature at the bottom of a blank piece of paper.

DD will sign a her NLI in the ceremony. She is the only person at her high school signing 11/9.

DD's high school has ceremonies for the D3 commits. They just sign a blank paper, but they still get the photo op and usually an article in the local paper.

Official ceremony or photo op, if you're not signing an actual NLI, rather than a blank piece of paper, why not mark the special occasion by signing a copy of the Declaration of Independence.
