WOW! Iowa State and Texas Tech play 3 games against each other this April. Will DFP pitchers face each other in a game? Can the universe survive?

I also see Iowa State will host Drake. A girl from Madison, Nicole Newman, pitches for Drake. I've never seen her play, but a lot of the girls I knew around that age played against her in high school. She has an absolute murderous rise ball. One time DD 3 was practicing with DD 1's former TB team, and the coach spent a practice teaching the girls the secrets of hitting a riseball. A few days later, some of those girls beat Nichole Newman's team in a HS Varsity game, and the girls on that TB team were the big stars of the game.

I saw Newman when we played Drake in the fall. She's good.

It'll be fun having DFP DD's teams face each other. Might have to have a virtual beer together in the DFP Tavern since I won't be able to make it down.

MNDad's dd made her collegiate debut last weekend in an unusual (and very scary) manner. She did not get the start. But two pitches (!) into the game, the starting pitcher was hit by a line drive in the back of the head. I understand she's going to be okay, but she sustained a concussion. So MNDad's dd came in to pitch MUCH earlier than anyone expected, after a long, scary, uneasy delay. Gave up a couple of runs that inning but settled down, her team made a comeback, and they ended up winning in extra innings. Very gutty performance if you ask me.

And the next day she pitched so well that she was named "Cyclone of the day!"

Interesting word choice. Ha. She decided to eat shellfish before flying down to San Diego. Not the best choice. Feeling a bit green. Compounded with a back injury she got in weightlifting a couple weeks ago, the stiff and sick Pac-Man is now watching until next week. Slow start but she will be back in the mix soon.

Pretty good game going on right now between Cal and Tech!
