I was wondering if anyone uses acronyms to help motivated their daughter? If you do, what are favorites?
I tell my daughter to play in 3-D: Desire, determination and dedication.
Another one is CCF-Confidence, consistency and focus.

Our HC does this.... some the girls love it, some hate it and some think it is hilarious. Probably about even on all three opinions across the team.

I am not a ra-ra person so when I was playing sports it annoyed the hell out of me. Things like pep rallies were just bizarre to me. I didn't need some stupid pep talk from a coach to get me motivated - I always amped up to play. But that is just me - some people love it.

The only one that matters is BBB - Ball, Base, Backup. Do this on every play in the field and you can play any position

To the OP, when we are quiet on those early mornings before the first pool or bracket game, I let her out and just say "game face."

My friend always started the first rec-ball practice of the season with "Girls, who knows what the 3 B's are?" and then proceeded to drum that in all season.
One year the team made him a card at the end of season with 3 very nicely drawn yellow bees on the front.

I stole this from Coach Kent Murphy…."alright girls, let's break this down from a fundamental standpoint!" If you have watched Coach Kent Murphy videos you know what I am talking about.

A.C.E. : attitude, concentration and effort. Those are the only things you can control.
I use it for the team as well.....

A&E....attitude and effort
QAB....(quality at bat) pronounced "cab" (call a cab and take that ball for a ride...)
3B's
Crack that nut.
Be a leader.
Be a tough out.
Win or loose, lets make sure we leave the park a better ball player than when we showed up today.

I try to use the word opportunity in stead of turn as much as possible. For example, when a kid is late to the on deck circle, I'll ask the team "who's opportunity is next?"
