New Rawlings Pro1000 - TIP vs. Traditional Grip

She's coming around on TIP even though we haven't spent too much time on break-in yet. She does want the wrist adjusted to narrow so I have lace and needles on order from BFG.

New Rawlings Pro1000 - TIP vs. Traditional Grip

Ooh...I got some of those in the basement. May as well use them for something!

New Rawlings Pro1000 - TIP vs. Traditional Grip

No hate and somewhat open-minded to TIP for now! Haven't started the break-in yet though...Obenauf's due to arrive today so I will treat the palm liners before break-in.

New Rawlings Pro1000 - TIP vs. Traditional Grip

Hi All! With lots of help from a well known member of this forum, we just received a Morton's Rawlings 12" Pro1000HTB. DD is coming from a 12" Liberty Advanced so this will definitely be a step up for her. Quick question for those with knowledge of wearing traditional vs. TIP (2 in the...

    Online pitching instruction

I have not tried any of those but I did learn a lot from https://www.paulygirlfastpitch.com/

Help! Lack of Drop Ball Bite

Assuming good 12-6 spin axis based on the coach "seeing good spin" then maybe just not enough spin rate yet to offset the more upward trajectory of the higher pitches. Also, a "pronation" drop is basically what is described in the "IR in the Classroom" thread. 12-6 spin naturally created by...

    Pitching with no backswing?

I am a believer of pitching out of the glove. However, my DD did lose 2-3 mph compared to her old backswing (kind of a big deal when velo is high 40's). I have suggested for her to concentrate on throwing her arms forward as she drives off the rubber with little success. Any other cues or...

    Needs more eyes

IMHO focus on front-side resistance and sequencing the hips / shoulders.

Look Back Rule? I don't know what happened.

DP / Flex still has me befuddled! Fortunately (I guess) we use continuous batting order.

    Riseball - ball rotation axis

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I didn't mean to suggest throwing a high dropball as a means to develop the riseball. My DD, like others, uses a 12-6 dropball as her "fastball" (she also has a changeup). She mostly throws these low in the zone. However, I have found many batters struggle...

    Riseball - ball rotation axis

OK, so riseballs....I often wonder what would be more effective for a pitcher just starting to learn a riseball like my DD...a high dropball or a high bullet spin "fastball"?

10u getting stuck in the middle with video

That course (and the intermediate course) will really get you on the right track! Good choice. At a minimum you will be equipped with the knowledge to determine if what a pitching coach is instructing passes the smell test.

10u getting stuck in the middle with video

Slam the door is an old school term that refers to the hips being fully closed / perpendicular to the power line (a straight line from pitcher to catcher). It's great you have somebody in your corner that recognizes pitching mechanics have evolved in the last 30 years. Also, I forgot to mention...

10u getting stuck in the middle with video

I may not have an answer for your 1st question but will share my thoughts. I wonder if you think she is "stuck sideways" because her pitcher teammates "slam the door" with their hips? You won't find many slam the door advocates on this site. Your DD might have an early edge in that her...
