I wouldn't dismiss what they do, chalking it up to the bats. Clearly how they swing is unconventional. Bat Speed Radar results and use
When you measure your kids, do you have them swing at it (pitcher's position) or off to the side? What distance? I am tring to figure out how accurate this thing is. The speeds seem slow, even when I measure myself.- TigerJeff

I see a lot of people use Right View Pro with the clips of hitters that they choose. I found a cheaper video capture program called MotionPro. It's just like RVP without the MLB licensing cost. Mike, I would stick to your original plan with wood bats. The worry that you have with bat weight is easy to fix. Think Sammy Sosa and Albert Belle! That's right cork it!
