College Camp: Money Grab or Real Exposure?

When they came to watch her play did her Head coach go out and talk to the coach to see if they had interest? College coach can say yes we have interest or no.

College Camp: Money Grab or Real Exposure?

You said that your DD went to this D1 camp several times previously. Have they seen her play? Do they have any interest? If you answer yes to both, they were probably still watching her. If not they would get some feedback from the players on the team helping with the camp.

Tell me about the myths of softball recruiting

Marriard I agree there are some bad D1 schools that would struggle against better D2 schools. You think some of the teams in the SWAC are bad there are some schools in the MEAC that would make them look good.:)

    I/R in the Classroom

JJ you said you were taught by Eddie Feigner. Here is a clip of Eddie throwing a pitch taken from a video of him talking about the evolution of fastpitch. Can you see the hand finish palm down? I can.

    Does this smell funny?

I didn't find any with her first name too but did find one player with a shorter version of that name that ends in (ie). Actually went to school with a girl that had that name and she always used the shorter version. The player with the shorter version first name played from 1994-1997 and she...

    Does this smell funny?

Ok , i took the bait and googled her. It is more than fishy, lets say it reeks of lies. The coach is 41 yrs old and graduated from Churchill High in 1996. Mike White was the head coach at Oregan starting in 2009(was the assistant there in 2003-2004) so that is a lie. I checked Oregon roster...

    Injuries HE vs IR

The answer without a doubt is HE. Let me say that you are making the right decision on switching to IR. First, the stoppage of the upper arm is a good thing when done properly with brush contact. It helps decrease the load on the rotator cuff muscles in deceleration of the high speed medial...

    Changing Mechanics - Best Practices

If you are going to make any change(HE to IR) forget full motion for now and work from the K position. It will make life more simpler. Have her get in the K position with stride foot at 45, drive foot on her toe and ball palm up. By doing this you are already eliminating 3 things to worry about...

    Needing more accuracy.....

I agree with Dandan, spend more time throwing from the K position than full. Also i would throw in to a net at the beginning of practice and really work on brush interference(BI) making sure her stride foot is at 45 degrees or less and is standing tall with no lean. If not you will having...

    Inside Tee Work suggestions wanted..

One drill that i use to train hitters on attacking inside pitch is the Jam drill. It is not a tee drill but short screen. What you do is pitch the ball right at them literally. For young girls i use wiffle balls or tennis balls but with older girls i use softballs. The key here is that they have...

Any 10u flame throwers at PGF Nationals this year?

Also, most woman throwing 68+ are more on the tall side 5'10" or taller but there are exceptions. So for a 10u who has only been pitching a couple of years, not fully developed and possibly has done no weight training to be throwing 55+ is really amazing.

Any 10u flame throwers at PGF Nationals this year?

To put it in perspective a 10u throwing 55 mph is the same equivalent speed of a woman throwing 68 mph at 43 ft. Now a 11" ball is roughly 6 oz and a 12" is roughly 7oz . Now most woman have been throwing 10+ years and are fully developed. Most have done some kind of weight training either legs...

    Tricks to stop Swim-glove

Practice pitching into your glove. I have some of my younger girls throw two full pitches into their glove and then the third pitch to a catcher or net.
