Brand new team, for us & them! Any way to feel secure?
1st team practice is Sunday, wish us luck! This will shed light on the players, coaches & parents... I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst all at the same time! With the 1hr distance of driving I'm hoping it's a decent team & with out time & money!!- SSmom83

Brand new team, for us & them! Any way to feel secure?
He did tell me that the SS & 3rd baseman moved up, he would also like to find a #2 catcher, but has 2 (he doesn't want his DD catching). He has 2 pitchers already.... Those are the only "facts" I truly know about the team thus far.- SSmom83

In the process of trying to find a 14U team nearby for my daughter we came across a brand new team that branched off from another team. The HC didn't go into much details but that the "insert team name" founder wasn't going to have a 14U team so him & the other coach broke off & created "Team...- SSmom83

We have the opposite problem - if anything we are always told shes so small, not strong enough, her hands dont fit the ball well yet, etc. maybe moving up to 14u she was just small... But not much i can do about that one! Lol- SSmom83

I mean we knew it wasn't good & we were obviously frustrated, but with 13 kids on the team and the way he had the girls everywhere each inning I just thought he was unorganized & didn't keep track! I just reached out to last years head coach and asked for stats - maybe that will really shed...- SSmom83

True! and thank you... She is in school softball now - practicing & hitting for 3 hours daily or games, and this week 6 games!! I will continue to search for a team & taking lessons! She has improved greatly over the years & we will keep those efforts there :) From last years school ball til...- SSmom83

To answer your questions.... When I was pitching, I was asked by the coach - I never instructed (he did) I simply pitched to the players. While catching in on the field before games it was the coach hitting & instructing & the girls simply throwing into me instead of pulling a girl off the...- SSmom83

I'm not trying to be one of those parents "my daughters the best", as I said it the other posts, she is no stand out player, she makes errors, she had her hitting slumps this past year! But she is a GOOD player! There were the standard 4 girls that sat 1/2 of EVERY game. 2 of those 4 that...- SSmom83

We were/are one of the few parents that put their child in private lessons (both hitting & pitching). She had a great tryout!!! Actually the star of the team from the previous year couldnt hit a ball fair for te life of her - and yes, she made the team! She hustled, she hit well, she fielded...- SSmom83

She batted all over the place, 2nd, 5, 6, 7, 8..... She had some big hits, even a double this season - but had her share of strike outs & walks too! She made errors, she wasnt perfect....
