Helping a quiet kid
When I coached I always made a point of giving quieter kids a chance to shine. Felt that that was what it was all about, being in the role of manager/coach. Maybe you could ask the coach to try to draw her out a little, dont let the louder kids drown her out or hog the spotlight. A good coach...- Rule#6

Things College Softball Announcers Can Quit Saying 2022 Edition
Absolutely true. So tired of hearing the announcers drool over Alo and Oklahoma in general. Yes they slaughtered everyone. we know. Their games were pretty boring to watch due to excessive slaughter, but those announcers just never let up. (Just my opinion however!)- Rule#6

When softball's not fun anymore
Bullying is terrible. My son was bullied and the bully had more rights than the victim! It was awful. I had to go all the way with it, file the Dignity for All Students reporting paperwork and report to NY state, and finally it was dealt with. Unprepared Coach
If your DD is having fun, and she gets lots of playing time, its 10U, just leave her alone and let her play. Maybe try not going to every game and practice if that is your habit? Just a suggestion. Not judging.- Rule#6

I agree 100% with this! This is NOT a life or death situation and if the OP is truly "Shaking with how upset he is" that is not healthy. What will you do when you have a Real problem if you are this stressed out over HS softball?? Its not healthy and not good for your DD to see. Let her...- Rule#6

Struggling player - what to do as a parent?
Let her fly on her own at some games, and have the fun of telling you how it went! She will feel good about herself, navigating the day without you! And you can tell her what you did that day (its good for our kids to see us with hobbies/interests, instead of hovering over them all the time.)- Rule#6

Your DD sounds like a great kid who wants to be a kid. I dont mean this in a judgemental way but she may burn out with this much softball, unless alot of it gets rained out. Even then, she may want a beautiful weekend to beach it with her friends. Not so great for your only free time to be in...- Rule#6

Hi DFP friends, I am watching some wonderful softball on ESPN channels every weekend (by me its mostly channel 217, 246 and a few others) Its so wonderful to watch these talented girls.
