@ArmWhip But would you agree that there still is no "wrist snap" (extension/flexion) in that cricket video? It's the forearm pronating and more or less the shoulder being the axis of the centripetal force creating the velocity.- Rosey

Edit: I meant to say that Ken B's statement is spot on I think. I consider a wrist snap an extension of the wrist to flexion. Some people may have different definitions. The whole point of IR is that the wrist is stable (not necessarily tense) and the ball gets let out right after IR hopefully...- Rosey

Change up help
A lot of my kids throw the same one with bullet spin titled down. I encourage a faster spin rate usually by cueing them to relax the thumb or feel the fingers roll up the side of the ball. I'm not talking speed. I'm just talking spin rate.- Rosey

If you are trying to throw a turn over do you grip it on the 2 seam or 4 seam to create 4 seam rotation? After you answer that when she throws it right which way does the ball actually spin seam orientation wise. Meaning does it spin 6-12 with a 2 seam orientation or 4 seam orientation. An...- Rosey

Sorry late to the thread. Besides all the nice cues that everyone provided here sometimes it's in the process. When I start my kids the start at 5' getting the spin right and relaying the spin they are seeing to me. Then when the are at 80% perfection with it they can move back to 10' and...- Rosey

I agree with Ken. The drill I think is intended to create some hip to shoulder separation. Not saying I completely agree with it. It goes along the beliefs that the hip should lead the shoulder slightly before release which also creates brush. As Pauly's 4d motion stats will tell you that...- Rosey

Hitting self in leg
I agree with Tony. Arm is too straight. Her posture is not helping but as her inner bicep comes into her body the elbow should be more bent keeping the hand away from the body. If she IR's too quickly then her hand leads instead of the elbow.- Rosey

Looking for an I/R pitching instructor in Minneapolis Metro area.
Whether IR is easier or not depends on where the kid starts from. There are kids who are already naturally doing it and kids who are not. If they are not, it's harder for sure.
