would love to see a section w/recommended vids on youtube. There are so many that contradict others, and some that are just complete trash. I've wondered about the throwing from the knees myself and was thinking about how to start my daughter on it. thanks for the OP for bringing it up, and you...
Thanks for the information. Just foundout that Northern Indiana Elite is folding, said all the teams were moving to other org's. So 1 less group to worry about.
as for the "watered down" stufff, if the talent is there it's not really watering it down, just means that there are that many girls...
Didn't think posting questions about north west IN would turn into a middle/south IN pissing contest over IMG, Bandits, Gators. I actually ended up speaking w/someone in the local area who's girls have been on several different teams, and has liked the Gators/Freeze, Shock and Sluggers, and her...
My DD's catching/pitching coach is the HS head coach for the school near us, and she suggested this bat for when she is on a travel team, and suggests it to her players. She said she has a dealer that can give her a discount. I've done some research, but there isn't a lot out there on them...
I was just talking to one of the coaches for another team and he was talking about how much his daughter loves the Xeno. Found out a year to late apparently :)
I felt the same way. I get why they are doing it, if you have mostly 10-11yr olds that are pretty new to the game playing against 12-13 yr olds is probably just going to cause the girls to lose heart/interest. I felt the same, don't be at the bottom of the roster but don't be the clear best either.
I have heard great things about IMG but for 12U it's in Indy or South Bend, I'm 1.5 to 2hrs away from both and I work fulltime and my wife is closer to 60hours, there is just no way to get here there reliably and regularly. And honestly I'm not sure she's that good right now. If I had my choice...
Thanks for the help.
We have 2 summit cities, one is the sluggers one is select, which one showed no red flags? The Freeze's younger teams are now the Gators, they were asked to join the Gators org b/c they liked the development path they were seeing from the Freeze.
We talked to one teams...
lol I wish, no she is 11, 12 in Nov and 5'6". She definitely has started playing basketball and took to it quite naturally. Normally(i know b/c i was tall very young also) dribbling is awkward but she became very solid at it. But she has a killer arm and has become deadly accurate behind the...
Thanks for the input, Summit City? Sluggers or Select? I'd like to see at least a regional presence but really I just want a team that can develop her from where she is to HS. She's a big strong girl 6'2" 120lbs at 11, and she has talent but it's all going to be wasted keeping her in a rec...
That link was really helpful, thank you. We would be in area 3 in the 12U, no Magic Gold, but Elite does have tryouts for 12U and I got her signed up. I would guess if the Gators aren't as good, Elite are likely the closest thing in this area to Magic.
what I'm trying to balance is, quality coaches and competition played. Not sure how much a good coach is going to teach her if they are only playing other local teams. The team she wants to play out for the most doesn't do a ton of travel and normally just a few tourny's, but they now have a...
Distance wouldn't matter as much if my son didn't also have after school baseball and band. He's got another 1-2 years before he can drive. I hate being late, and prefer to be early, but having to try and drop him off and then get 30-40 min's down the road, if not 1+hr is asking a lot. DW isn't...
