Actually, I speak from experience, so yes I do believe it.
When negative things are happening that are out of your control (such as poor umpiring) it is easy to get discouraged, lose a little focus, lose a little fight or determination- especially at the younger ages. It is psychology 101...
First of all, a coach can ask for help respectfully without making a fool of himself or freaking out.
Second, there may be a few reasons to ask for help even if you know the call will not be overturned. If the other ump had a good view of the play and even though he may not overturn the...
Realy appreciate all of the responses, it is apparent that there is not a clear cut answer. My DW and i go back and forth quite a bit but agree to stick it out until the fall and reevaluate. Hopefully something changes for the better.
I would add two things;
1). Age seems to be large factor...
Looking for some feedback on DD's current TB team situation.
TEAM- 12U, high level A (heading to National Championships in St. Louis this July)
No comparable Team in the area
COACH- +Around 30 years experience with many players making it to the college level...
Unfortunately, we have probably all dealt with this to some degree or another, and some of us have been the Daddy coach (myself included). When I coach my DD, I intentionally try to be harder on her than the rest of the team and of course she doesn't like that either. It's a no win situation...
Nolan Arenado, one of the best hitters in baseball right now , does a similar motion, although not as pronounced. All part of loading, rhythm and timing. It is good to see that a batting coach has not tried to change her mechanics. I see too many coaches trying to force their idea of good...
Great diagram from williams on slight upswing but I believe it pertains more to baseball than softball. With a pither on a mound with a release point around the head, the ball will be traveling in a downward angle as opposed to softball with no mound and the release around the hip. Also...
Not sure if you ever considered using a sensor (like Zepp) during some of these drills. It can be as technical as you want or just provide some validation on a good or bad swing. It's amazing how much harder they start swinging when they can actually see numbers (bat speed at impact, hand...
I agree with the previous posts, the quality of the practices are very important - especially if you are in TB and essentially paying for them. I am willing to put up with a fair amount of the BS associated with TB, but when it comes to the quality of the practices the girls better be...
First of all, thanks for the feedback. I agree with the 12.75 comment, just wish there were more options. Went with the Liberty, considering the time of year and being able to break it in quickly. I will definitely look at the allstars in the future.
First impressions on the liberty ...
I am looking to buy a first base mitt for DD, she is a tall, strong 12 year old playing very competitive travel ball.
I have narrowed it down to Louisville's LXT or Xeno, Rawlings Liberty advanced, or Easton's core pro.
Trying to keep it under $150. I currently get a discount on wilson...
