With Spring practice starting back up, I thought it would be fun to start a thread with everyone's favorite games.
What is your go-to game during practice?
What game do your girls like best?
What is your favorite hitting game, fielding game, throwing game, etc.?
Some do, some don't....My experience observing some of the mom drama surrounding my kids sports/friends tells me that the 'being included/excluded drama" transfers from the moms (and dads)to their kids very quickly.
Little League. I will say this however. I've had the same core of 6-7 great, athletic girls for 2 years now, and this will be our third (first year with kid pitch). After the spring season, and getting accustomed to actual pitching, we'll be taking this core and forming a club team. So, rec...
Glad to see I'm not the only one! Was talking with the dad of one of my players (not a girl that wants to pitch) last night and he asked how the pitching lesson went.
I told him "It went...ok..."
He instantly started cracking up, and said "the look of horror on your face when you said "ok" was...
I agree. The reason for the group lesson is that I'm the head coach for DD's team. We're moving from machine pitch to kid pitch starting in spring, and have ZERO girls on the team that have pitched before. This was more of an "establish a base for the girls interested in pitching." Might do...
First lesson went well. Mostly worked on set-up, release point, glove-hand action, etc.
At one point, DD told the instructor "my dad has been having me lead with the pinky..." Instructor had a slightly confused look, but didn't really say anything as she wasn't really going into that level of...
Pretty excited...taking my daughter and 3 other girls to their first pitching lesson tonight. Start our first season of kid-pitch in the spring, so hoping to get a little bit of a jump on the pitching aspect!
I've been working with my daughter a bit in the front yard, trying to go over some of...
2 years ago, I built my team from Cheerleaders. My daughter was doing cheer in the fall as one of her many sports that she does. I was looking at the squad, saying, "these girls are athletes! How many of you want to play softball this Spring?"
Only my daughter and 1 other girl had played...
Was at my nephew's game the other day. Opposing team was making noise right as the pitcher was making his delivery. Ump gave the bench a warning, and it stopped right there. He told them cheer your team on, but slam the bench during the pitch, and I'll send you packing.
Wow, this thread went from interesting topic, to....something! lol.
I think it's important for kids (girls especially) to play mulitple sports. So many things out there that they're not typically introduced to. They'll never know what they'll fall in love with. Also help against over-use...
Before we throw, I have my girls do the stretches that start on page 6 of the link below. We follow that up with a set of good slow push-ups, and the blood is now flowing!
