My DD is going into her Senior year of playing DI college ball. These past two years have really taken so much away; I think it has changed her attitude significantly. Curious. For Large D1 Programs, how many walk-on's do they carry on roster?
DDs school had 25 on the roster. it was my understanding that there were two recruited walk ons and 2 that walked on after the school year started. i have no idea how many scholarships her school has available.- learning

Sunglasses recommendations
This is not necessarily a college softball topic but DD is in her freshman year and will be playing outfield - she’s asked for some sunglasses for Christmas. Anyone have recommendations of a good brand/type that has worked well for your DD? Thanks for any suggestions.- learning

Just dropped her off at college
My DD left a little over a week ago too. I agree, there were many nights home alone with DH because the kids were out for the evening, but it feels very different! I'm lucky and glad that she's not too far and I can go see her team's fall scrimmages at the end of this month!- learning

I should have been more clear. The assumption where I thought *maybe* scholarship money would be considered was one where the player was a starter and doing well batting. Scholarships
I wasn't aware of the academic scholarship rules but just looked it up...the requirements for D1 schools that are noted in the post above are that you must meet ONE of those requirements, not all. Glad to see that as my daughter meets the ACT requirement and is getting an academic scholarship...- learning

How to Survive (And Thrive) in the Challenging World of College Sports
Thanks for this - DD starts first year of college ball this fall - I forwarded it to her! It's a great, easy read with great tips.
