Sitting on a bucket or stand for front toss

So maybe in softball the pitcher should stand on the bucket :) Great video though.. love how he talks about adjusting posture to get on plane with the ball as well.. good stuff

    Hitting Really Fast Pitchers

We often set way too many goal posts for our kids. Many coaches make the mistake of training kids with high velocity, thinking if they can hit 65, they will have no trouble with 50. Unfortunately that's not the case. I've seen kids struggle just as much with a slow pitcher. I believe you train...

Sitting on a bucket or stand for front toss

IMO Always stand.. I believe by standing the pitcher can emulate a delivery which is more similar to what they will see in a game. It's important that a hitter can see the delivery so they can time the beginning of their sequence. Even if you can't pitch wind up, the hitter can still time their...

    Bat Barrel Position

Justin Turner is another great hitter who does not point the knob at the Catcher, he points it at his back foot

    Bat Barrel Position

And prior to that... is he ever leveraging both legs.

    Is rotation nonsense?

This is kind of silly. Of course there is rotation. But there are other aspects as well

    Is rotation nonsense?

Is that what you teach Bobby? Swing around the ball?

    Is rotation nonsense?

And posture.. without posture a hitter will swing around the ball instead of through the ball

    Bat Barrel Position

Does Acuna always arm bar? I doubt it I arm barred quite often.. however I hit from the left side of the plate and I am right handed. I honestly believe it's much easier to do and be successful when your leading side(side closes to the pitcher) is your dominant side

    Bat Barrel Position

Precisely....and because the things you mentioned above it should be one of the easier swings to duplicate

    Bat Barrel Position

    Is he?

    Bat Barrel Position

Thanks W, IMO When speaking of arm bar.. nobody is saying that it's a problem if a hitter arm bars during the stretch.. it's after launch that is continuously debated. EFB already pointed this out (Knob to the catcher).. I'm posting a very good hitter which does not. More than one way to get...

    Bat Barrel Position

And then along came this guy BTW nice arm bar JR.. locking it out early. Two birds killed with one swing :) Seriously though.. are their any certainties in a baseball swing?

Fastpitch hitting - men vs. women

I know the balls and bats are different in Slo Pitch vs Fastpitch.. but I am willing to bet that if all variables were the same with exception to pitch velocity, the harder pitched ball would fly further off the bat. IMO a 225 ft shot in fastpitch is a big deal.. not in a tape measure sense...

Fastpitch hitting - men vs. women

I played men's fastpitch. The fields I played on were generally 230-250. In my experience pitchers dominate the fastpitch field, very little gets barreled up. However you don't need a big powerful swing to hit one out, you literally just have to barrel it up ... the ball flies off the bat. I...
