My DD is a freshman. In our state 7th graders can play Varsity for 6yrs. In fact if you move a 7th or 8th grader up they are REQUIRED to play 50% of the time.
The majority of my DD's friends are Freshman and may or may-not make V.
It seems to me that the V squad is going to stay the same way...
All good questions. There are a lot of variables. She's on a very competitive travel team and will be playing 1 tournament during school ball and practicing 2x a week for travel. She has a packed June and July travel schedule.
There is maybe 15% more practices at Varsity than JV.
There are...
I'm sure some of you have had to help your DD make this decision. Suppose your DD is asked to play for the Varsity School team but she's JV age eligible. It seems like the offer to play up is mainly as a backup and she's probably not in the starting lineup.
Is play time more important than...

This may be a stupid question but the Cypress gloves are baseball gloves correct? Are there are noticeable differences between the baseball and softball gloves?
Thanks for the info and this is the first I'm seeing it. I seem to be focusing in on the 12" glove size as well. She uses a 11.75 right now for everything and she's had no issues. I would like to give her a touch bigger glove for the OF though so I'm thinking the 12" makes the most sense. We're...
Ok our DD is 13 and has average 13yr old girl hands but the Wilson catchers mitt is just too much. Does your DD use the 12" glove everywhere? I'm thinking that size may make the most sense for our DD but with a web.
We're looking at the Palmetto for our DD. To the best of our understanding the Wilson A2000 34" catchers glove we bought her is just too big for her hand. We've tried everything to break it in for her but he hands to small to squeeze it properly. We're also looking at the Vinci gloves. Trying...
