The Official Fastpitch Foundations Thread ;)

Well said Spartan, I've been using this forum for 7 years. Private instructor for 15 years. Never taught HE, but its so prevalent in my area. I continue to learn something everyday through this site. The time and effort of BM, Java, Rick and others has really impacted my teaching. So...

    High School experts!

It looks like the HC was toying with you. Just figured he would find an easy way to annoy you. You said you have a history with this coach - so... You really have no reason being at a HS practice. Daughter was a 4 year starting pitcher, never attended a practice or interacted with the...

DD making some progress with Bill Hillhouse

Knighsb - I like your observations. I believe a little more front side resistance would be beneficial. Both have some glove swim but IMO it doesn't have a negative impact on their pitching. I would study Amanda's relaxed follow through. I don't teach the elbow snap so I'll take a pass on that.

Have the bushnell III gun, after reading this it looks like it maybe reading 3 -4 mph slower. Had girls that where clocked at an NFCA camp, speeds where 4 mph faster.

    Screw, inside drop, R/H pitcher

I agree on the everything looking the same, although IMO most hitters if they are looking at the pitchers feet, they miss the ball just before the release. I'm sure an elite hitter would be able to pick it up. Anyway when one of my pitchers goes to a winter camp for college, the coaches...

    Screw, inside drop, R/H pitcher

That's awesome. This is the spin orientation used for teaching I/R as demonstrated in board members thread ( what do I Mean ) . A 1/7 2/8 spin, just delay the forearm rotation. I actually teach the inside drop / screw by changing the power line like a screw but throwing the peel drop. So I...

    Screw, inside drop, R/H pitcher

Thanks Ken. I only have a few that are capable of using two fingers.

    Screw, inside drop, R/H pitcher

Besides what I mentioned, how are we teaching the inside pitch to have a sharper break ? I don't completely understand the release angle, pressure points, and what else is needed to throw an inside cutter. Any help is greatly appreciated.
