It’s not so much about age, it is more about the late birthday girls (August -December) that get stuck playing abbreviated seasons their first year of 14 while other girls in their grade are playing full seasons all the way up to the time school ball school ball starts. Late birthdays will also...
No way to make everyone happy for anything. That is just not realistic. What should be realistic is that the sanctions band together and do what is right for the girls.
For anyone that may have an interest here is a link to a petition asking USSSA to make a change similar to USA, FASA and some other sanctions. https://chng.it/ZjM9NThxzW.
If you agree take a few seconds and sign.
Many are teaching to let the outside pitch travel deeper and then to get extension at to slightly before contact in order to barrel it up and send it with som force to the opposite side of the field. I would think that the taller girls would typically have more reach therefore covering the...
Oh it is not a particular problem with the MVP chin pad design or anything like that. She has the same issues with her field face mask chin pads as well. The problem is they all absorb sweat. For her fielding masks we have several on hand that we swap out as needed. The sweat is the problem the...
DD plays C and has an issue with her chin pad breaking her chin out. We wash it after every practice/tournament but she sweats a lot and winds up breaking out. Thought about buying the deer skin pad but not sure it will help. Any ideas?
Yeah it is tough and I believe there are differing ideas of what daddy ball is. Around here it is considered daddy ball when the coaches kids play where they want irregardless of other talent on the field. For our team every spot is earned no matter the players name. We have lost multiple girls...
Thanks for the feed back all. I’m pretty sure I already knew and expected the comments and the suggested directions. We will have some decisions to think about before the spring.
She knows. We never sit any girl without explanation. But specifically my DD and I speak of this ALL the time. One on one she gives everything she has but in team practice/game situations she falls off a bit.
I can’t help but think it because she feels like she is being singled out for bad...
10u and if it was up to him she would never be pulled. But I feel that conveys the wrong message to her. Our Moto is, you earn it or someone else will. I prefer to reward effort over ability and I feel that my DD is doing just what she has to do to stay at the top of her position instead of...
Looking for thoughts, opinions on something I am struggling with.
I Co-coach a C class TB team. My DD is one of the top all around athletes and players on the team. We do not play daddy ball by any means in all actuality we are probably just the opposite. We hold our two DD’s to a higher...
