This thread did get off topic a bit[emoji1787] but I agree with you. A good drop ball pitcher is more effective at "high levels" than a flame thrower. Granted, you do need to have kids that can swing it when facing speed.

Yeah sorry to disappoint. I figured she'd be at 72 by 14u too. Guess we have a year to go[emoji1787] I'm not sure what you consider "high level pitching". The fastest we seen in power pool in Colorado at 14s was 56 and that was 1 pitcher. We didn't get to play Mojo but I hear that kid is high...
You know what?! Maybe that family is from that Texas/Oklahoma border area? Not sure where Ardmore is at in OK. Could be anyway.

My kid isn't big at all. 14 now 5'3 125ish still throws 56-58. We touched 61 a few weeks ago but was 60 during our session. I'm looking for movement tho. 60 gets rocked[emoji1787]

Yep they're out there. First one I seen was in Oklahoma and played for some Angel's program on the border of Texas and Oklahoma. Another 2 I seen was in Branson, MO. 1 was from Iowa and the other from Arkansas. That's just a few. My kid threw 54-56 at 10u.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. The reason I ask gather or launch well it can go a few different ways. On gather, it could be as simple as "slow and early" and launch, well do we need to set up an appointment with an optometrist? We went through that 10u phase many times. There were weekends...
Without video I'm gonna guess she's a bit late with her gather? Then gets in a hurry with her launch? If it is try a hover drill during front toss but being firm about removing the slack out first before you even toss the ball. Tee will be fine too. If you watch this gif, you'll notice that #3...
I tried knocking knuckles and did not like it(as a player). DDs tried it and didn't like it. One isn't better than the other imo. All comfort. The problem coaches have is simply this...They don't know how to teach a kid how to grip a bat. Most that are trying/using a box grip place the handle on...
