    It was a coach (for the fielding team) and this was the call he made and his reasoning (quoted from an email sent to our coach). Obviously I see the play very differently than he did/does and I wanted to get other people's thoughts so I could be sure it wasn't my biases coming through.

    Why not use sunglasses? They can easily be cleaned when they get dusty and they can be taken off when the sun isn't out.

    Well unbeknown to me my DW went and found a used Rocketech alloy bat on eBay, so I guess original question doesn't matter. Appreciate the feedback.

    I would go with the Rocketech, but can't justify the cost for less than a dozen games this year. October in New England can be so hit or miss with the weather. Just wasn't sure if the extra $60 is justified for the StringKing.
