    Lol, this is exactly how I introduced my players to the concept of play calling (at 12u). If the numbers add up to 9, bunt. For pitchers, if it's odd, fastball, even, changeup. The first position indicated location.

    Preach! Coaches take note - if you can't explain the purpose of a drill, and articulate it to your players, maybe you should reconsider the drill. I suspect the people that need to hear that aren't reading this forum though.

    Knowing that this is 10u, unless you have a group of studs with high softball IQ, any time it's not a force play, I would: 1. Take the easy out. 2. Take the easy out. 3. Take the easy out. 4. Take the easy out. That said, I'd make sure my P and C knew the easy out was at home.

    Your gut's right. Fortunately, all is not lost! This is a pretty good position, her arm has some bend, the ball is facing sideways which isn't the worst thing. If I saw this still I'd think not bad, a couple of things to tweak here. Ignore the "glove swim", she's getting some great separation...
