My daughter was able to pick up golf very quickly at around that age. As long as she is doing a little of both during each season she should not struggle much jumping from one swing to the next like a lot of people claim.
Having watched a recent 10u game I would say to your point of youth and adults using the same size field that it would be more effective for 8U, 10u, 12u fields to shrink a little to mimic the adult game than go to 250/275 and 75’.
I prefer 210lines and 220 center but that’s just my opinion.
I agree that it took me about 3 months. Up until that point it was painful to wash my hair or even put a shirt on. I took a lot of fish oil, vitamin E, as well as started using lotion which I had never had to do, oh and I couldn’t live without chapstick.
The only thing that i feel had longer...
I have first hand experience with this, with the exception that I was an adult when I took acutane.
I can honestly say the effects that it had on my body were surprisingly harsh. Without getting into to much detail and just to address your concern, I had extreme joint pain to the point that I...
I’m going to go with never.
My opinion that doesn’t count is that it comes off as bush league cheesy (especially player name announcement) and seems to be a way for parents/coaches to further implement themselves into the girls game. Again my opinion but to each their own and I’ve never...
I do think that may be some of the issue. Some of them are jumping up and out and the arm is getting around well before there can be any front side resistance.
Those are exactly what we are exactly the things we are seeing. We are also seeing two of them really want to rotate their hand over the top at release for some reason. What does TTL stand for?
The head coach of our team and myself have started to work with a couple of the girls on the team in regards to IR. All 4 were taught HE, clear the hips, etc.
Obviously there are a lot of challenges but this place has offered a ton of help and just showing the girls many of the videos from here...
From watching video of my daughter this seems to be a huge issue hampering her timing and IR. Are there any drills that will help with this. I saw someone refer to push back drills, what are those?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Absolutely thank you so much for the responses. We are going to contact a couple of the instructors and see what fits best. We have some quality pitchers in our area and I would love to see them all get proper instruction.
Hillhouse, Thank you for the response. It's actually your videos that started me questioning what was being taught. We do have a facility and at minimum there are at least 4 girls from 11u to 16u looking for an IR coach.
NEO is Northeastern Ohio. Sorry for that.
I did start to work with her a bout a month ago. It has already shown improvement. But there are a couple of issues. 1) it is hard for me to pick up on the nuances while catching. 2) I see several flaws in her pitch according to this site but have not...
Thank you everyone for the replies. Looks like Tincher or associate may be our only option. Not that close to us but worth checking out.
We have been to several coaches and they all teach HE and straight arm ball back pitching. A sticky could help eliminate a lot of R&D time and expenses.
Thanks...
