A) it is unusual for one of us parents to not be there and there is usually someone else present with medical training (e.g. athletic trainer or nurse/doctor parent), so I would likely let DD play. Ideas and tips for tournament weekend energy food
Agree that nutrition is important and often overlooked. We try to pack our own snacks in a cooler with food DD likes...meat, cheese, pickles etc. Eat at local, non-chain restaurants for lunch or dinner. Hotel breakfast varies, but try to get whole eggs/omelettes and avoid cereals, waffles...- DonnyS

First time Ghost Dad
I've bought plenty of bats...only one has broken and only after 2-3 days of use. I say go hit the bat however you want. Out of an abundance of caution I have DD do 100+ hits off the tee rotating it around, then its fair game. Dimple balls, regular balls, 10" balls,12" balls, wiffle balls...- DonnyS

NAIA ruling on Transgender athletes
You are not banning trans men, you're protecting women athletes. Words matter...change the narrative. Agree with LEsoftballdad...NCAA needs to step up, as do many other organizations. Dawn Stanley missed an opportunity. What a *NAUGHTY NAUGHTY* joke this has become. Embarrassing.- DonnyS

Cost of college and scholarships
Is the FAFSA (or CSS) required even if you know you will not get need based aid or any federal money? Can you opt out of it? I assume it is school dependent, but figured I'd ask anyway.- DonnyS

What do you think?
DD pitches better in games too. Velo up and movement better. She is also better after the 2nd/3rd inning vs the 1st...probably more to do with understanding what the umpire is calling than being warmed up.- DonnyS

HS Softball Started
HS Softball for us is a 2+ month period of time where mostly below average to no talent is assembled on various teams throughout the area to play games that are often painful to watch.
