Runner vs. No runner speed
I was curious about the original question before rubber was changed to rubber. Always wondered if there was a speed difference from just pitching off a spot in the backyard vs off the rubber.- Devo

Getting arm tighter.
Moving to a bigger ball and farther distance all at the same time really puts a stress on mechanics. At that age, when my dd's mechanics went bad, we moved to strictly a wiffle ball for 2 months. Worked out great.- Devo

college update
Glad to hear you are doing well and have company paid healthcare! How in the world do you work the 1 scholarship thing? You will have dozens of pitchers on your radar, some a reach, some a safety. Who do you offer and when? Certainly a difficult position to be in.- Devo

Pitcher's setup in relation to middle of home plate
My oldest has been to a number of instructors, including BH, and I have read most threads here over the past few years and very little has been mentioned about setup. I bring this up because my 10U constantly throws her fastball inside. Sure it could be a circle problem, or maybe her plant...- Devo

For a rhp, what part of the pitcher's body is over the middle of home plate? Right shoulder, right foot, belly button? Maybe you just line line up where the divot is in front of the mound?- Devo

Batspeed question
At tryouts the plan is machine pitch, live pitch and off of a tee. They are measuring bat speed and ball velocity from the tee. Would girls record a higher bat speed if they dropped down an ounce or so with another bat? Would ball velocity change much? This would be for 16u. Just curious.- Devo

I agree, in fact my DD is a pitcher as well, but we know her abilities. Cool with being the no. 2 pitcher and no.1 ss on the team, but frustrated that whatever she does at the plate doesn't matter since after one or two runs it's over.- Devo
