It's a money grab. They send that invite to all the players signed up to play in the tourney and your DD may only get 1 inning in the game depending on how many other players pay to play.

Not every player wishes to play A travel ball. I know many players who tried the travel ball route, hated it, quit for a while and went back to rec to play with friends.
Doesn't mean that they suck as players. Travel is not for everyone. A ball is travel ball where I live.
Our league drafts from scratch every year. We use evaluation day.
Then coaches draft in a serpentine fashion with their daughters slotted in at the appropriate round according to their skill level.
It's obvious to my eyes that this catcher has done this before.
With regards to the second time it happens to #4 I cannot say that I would have been as restrained as that young lady. Bravo to her.. She is a better woman than I was at that age.
