My DD is just getting ready to come back after wrist surgery. She is saying that her catchers mitt is too heavy and she's worried about being able to use it. I was hoping someone had a recommendation of a light mitt that could be easily broken in for her? She is 16 and currently has a...
If it continues, go see an ortho. My dd was complaining about the same thing and we put it off as just overuse and turns out she tore a ligament. She had surgery a month ago for it and could be out a total of 4-6 months.
Update: Surgery scheduled for the 20th. Doctor is saying 4-6 months recovery time. This about broke her heart!
Looks like she tore her Ligamentum subruentum ligament. He can't show me the tear on the MRI but says based on symptoms and the way it moves he feels that is what it is.
She did...
Following. My dd is going thru the same thing. I am waiting on her 2nd MRI to be approved to see if surgery is necessary or if it looks like the brace/PT route is working.
LOL... I bet that would get very annoying after a few times.
I'll never forget my dd's first year 12U rec and the other team kept saying
" there's a runner on 3 and she really has to pee... hit her home, hit her home"
still makes me giggle its too silly.
I asked the coach and he said that this should help with keeping her left shoulder in?? That it helps promote line drives and better contact. I've seen them do the drill on 1 knee and I don't get it.
My daughters coach recommended this drill
Short Bat Bottom Hand Tee Drill
Any thoughts? Useful? My dd thinks it is a waste of time. Thought I would check with the experts!
Thanks!

I just picked up a Rawlings 11 3/4" glove for my 14 yr old shortstop/pitcher.
Her middle school coach asked her why she had a baseball glove.
Is this glove too small?
She plays Rec, travel & middle school right now.
If it makes a difference she is 5 ft 2in and 125 lbs.

My dd is in middle school and she said her coach worked with the other schools and they will play two 5 inning games so he can have 2 teams.
I'm not sure if it is a good thing yet or not but could that be an option in your area??
My dd had the same issue. I took her glove to a shoe repair place and they added velcro to the strap so that she could tighten it more, it made her feel better and wasn't expensive at all.
