Just got back from the store and bought the Ghost DS in the limited edition Team Canada colors. Daughter loves the look. She had been using the 2018 Ghost bat previously.
The store owner said that he has already had a bunch of returns on cracked Advanced bats at an alarming rate. I imagine...
I played SS in baseball until I was 19 and then fastpitch after. In baseball I preferred the smaller glove, but I never really had any issues of 'finding' the ball with a 12" glove in softball. My daughter plays SS and she loves her Softball A2000 12" glove. I don't think I would go smaller.
I agree with this. I don't see mush of a push, if any. Watch her lead foot trajectory. It would have landed in the exact same spot whether their was a replant or not. Typically, you see the lead foot gain a bit more distance with a secondary push off.
I call this a baby crowhop and I don't...
Thanks Gator. Any chance I can get a look at one of the public ones. You can PM me if you don't want to show it on here. No worries if you don't. Completely understandable.
I totally understand. Well explained. Thanks.
I have been telling my daughter to stop watching also, so I can get a rough idea. Good idea to tailor them individually.
I have our video as public, but I will start doing what you suggest to the schools that she really has her hopes on.
If you take the pitchers out of the equation, The Huskies might have a team that is below the average American female for height. And a lot of those girls listed as 5'4" are being measured in cleats and standing on the mound ;-).
I think the smarter NCAA coaches probably ignore height a bit...
One team in our league doesn't allow their girls to be picked up. Every other team is fine with it. The coaches call each other first to ask, and then the head coach gives the option to the girl that is being picked up. As long as it doesn't interfere.
This is true for most of us. We figured it out. But I would say that if the girls are aware of it in gym practice, the learning curve would be quicker.
As mentioned, Long hop - Short hop. So many coaches do not teach this and just yell "charge the ball".
One thing to be aware of in gym practices, is what kind of hop they are receiving the ball on. Everything bounces perfectly, so you have to be aware if the player is picking it up on a 3...
Where will she have the most fun? This isn't a job, it's a sport.
And I honestly believe she will develop more playing and leading the JV then she will sitting on the bench playing Varsity. I am assuming the JV has competent coaches that can run good practices.
