    2 questions for experienced dads

DD worked with Bill H. a few times. He stressed follow thru to opposite shoulder. Her cu has gotten better with his advise and it is also thrown better when she stays open and throws her back hand hard with what appears to be maximum effort.

    ? peel over drop

With my limited experience its one or the other. I was not fond of the turnover mechanics as I had suffered a shoulder injury playing baseball in HS. Call me selfish but my dd throws a peel. My rec is search Hillhouse. My opinion of course and I dont know if one is better than the other...

    Double ball

Thanks all. I think I saw it on the fast pitch episode. Thanks crystle I will try to figure out the seams.

    CU vs Off-Speed

A well known instructor on this board showed my daughter how to throw a flip change with a follow through to opposite shoulder. When thrown properly it moves outside and drops. We will see how it works against hitters. Looks good when thrown properly. Stay open and dont slow down.

    Double ball

I tried searching....I thought I had read here in regard to making a double ball. DD is trying to learn a rise and I think I need a double ball. I could probably figure it out but knowing me it would not go real well. If anyone remembers the thread, if it exists, on how to line up seams...

    pitching mat

If your dd is in high school have her talk to AD. I have been looking to make or buy one for some time. Though my dd is the starting pitcher and would have some perks....she talked to AD and low and behold..the school has 6 mats. He let her take one to use off season.

Where to Start My Daughter Pitching?

We play in PA. I read rule book after she was called out on it. Not sure it's allowed per PIAA rules. I dont coach HS and I cant argue with ump. If there is a hole then heel to plate may be difficult anyhow, so they need to be able to adjust as needed. Heel to plate seemed to help alleviate...

Where to Start My Daughter Pitching?

The only problem my dd has encountered from the DVD is umpires in our area will not allow heel against the pitchers plate. Have to push off. DD liked and worked on heel to plate and was told it wasnt allowed.

Where to Start My Daughter Pitching?

Hillhouse DVD. No doubt as far as Im concerned. Then IR thread with patient reading. Leap and drag, 12 6 rotation, and no bowling is where I would start if I was to do it over with my dd.

    Drag Foot

Figure 4 means mule kick leg action to me, or whatever it may be called.

    Drag Foot

Its a lighthearted threat to use socks on concrete to fix problem. Wish I could picture what you mean with the relaxed ankle. My dd was taught some things before I researched how to pitch that may have encouraged a figure 4 right or wrong finish.. which may have contributed to strong drag on...

    Drag Foot

Love that Hal. My dd has heavy drag foot and I have been telling her that is how we are going to cure it. You can imagine the reaction I get when I tell her that. She tore up spikes. Ringors seem to be holding up.
