Yes, a brochure about the softball program, some stickers, and generally a list of camps and an invitation to said camps. I'll disagree with OrangeSocks a little about the generic mailers. The school my DD committed to sent her mail before Sept 1st. In my opinion, this is a way for coaches to...
I'll somewhat disagree with this. Generic school mail...yes, due to ACT's and such. However, mail from a school's softball program is different. I believe D1's are allowed a 1 time mailer to prospective recruits. They usually have info about the softball program, some stickers and such, and...
I saw this the other day on a hunting forum. I'd be curious to see how it does but this may be an idea too. My only issue with buddy heaters is the heat kind of just rises. You get some radiant heat out front and that's good for my feet but I want some air movement...
I would say to absolutely post videos and pictures from the camp. As for the "shopping around" aspect, your DD is trying to get recruited. If she is too young for coaches to talk with her then you really don't have much feedback to go off of. What they can talk about is limited. My DD posted...
What a great story. I love it. My wife and I say it often nowadays that if we could go back, we would be a heck of a lot easier on our DD. Just play for the fun of playing and the rest will sort itself out.
My DD just spent $20 on sidelineswap on a couple of practice bats. One was a brand new wood bad in a drop 3 or something like that for $8. The other was a little aluminum bat for a single hand trainer. Overall, a good experience.
This little thing is awesome. One bit of advice though is not to use it as a bucket dad bucket. A ball hits that bottom section and will collapse and put you on your back in a hurry.
I'm sure this has been brought up before but I didn't re-read the whole thread. Make sure things that cannot be replaced stay with you in a carry on. Gloves, uniforms, etc. Things like bats, catchers gear, masks, and so on can be replaced in a pinch if they get lost in transit. Gloves and...
You would figure. But when a Power 5 coach is scrutinized based on wins and losses and their job depends on it.....well, they are softball first and academics second
I'll try to answer some of these as well since my 2025 DD just went thru it. Let me start by saying that our visit was an unofficial but we did receive an offer after the campus tour, lunch (which we paid for), meeting with admissions, etc. For my DD, her academics/ACT will cover her tuition...
