I have an 8 year old daughter that has played softball for 5 years and last year led our pitching machine league with a .980 batting average. We moved her up to live arm a year early b/c the caliber of players in pitching machine fell off this year. We have had 9 games so far and live arm is new to our league so the pitching is lacking so there has been alot of walks. The pitching has progressed some but when she steps in the batters box, she freezes. She has hit 1 ball in 9 games. It is all mental b/c I know she has the ability in her. It is tearing me up inside b/c I feel like I have lost my good little softball player. I do not know how to help her overcome her fear/uncomfortableness while batting in a game. In practice she's still a great hitter but she gets nervous in games. Defensively she is still as sharp as ever but it's batting. I also have a 6 year old son that we moved up to pitching machine at 5 last year and he plays shortstop and hit his first homerun last game. He has a .800 batting average so far so he's on a roll.

I love watching my kids play ball, fishing and hunting.
