  • There are a number of resources on my website Cross Training | Softball | Short Game | Base Running that you are free to download and print to distribute if you think any of it would be valuable to the players you'll be teaching.

I wish you the best of luck as you embard on this great endeavor,
    Dalton Ruer
Equipment: As you get started with this perhaps your travel/club/high school coach might let you just borrow a couple of buckets of balls, batting nets etc so that you don't have any expenses. If you can't find the equipment you need to borrow consider something like we have in GA called "Play it again sports". They sell used balls for like $1 each, used bats etc. If you have to spend money for the softball you might be creative and purchase enough softballs so that there is 1 per girl, and instead of giving out t-shirts have you and your friends autograph the balls for the girls, or just bring a tub of Sharpies and let them autograph each others softball. They won't get to wear the t-shirt, but they'll have the "game ball" from camp to sit on their night stand and think about the great players that helped them and encouraged them.
If you look for Screen Printing in your area you will find someone that can pretty quickly put something on the t-shirts. Other website offer an all-in-one kind of service where you pick the shirt, upload your image and voila they mail you the completed t-shirts. They charge for that convenience though.

One thing you should consider as you are planning and inviting teammates etc is that not all of the talented players on your team may necessarily be good at or care about teaching younger players. While you certainly would like to leave the campers with more knowledge than they had when they showed up, the reality is that all of us care more about the relationships and the people we interact with. So you should find other players that have open, loving hearts like you because the campers will be drawn to their passion and will look up to them as role models.
    Amanda,

My former player's name that did what you are planning to do is Shannon Murray. You can reach her if you'd like at: fastpitch10@gmail.com As I shared initially I'm sure she'd be more than happy to offer you advice based on her experience putting a camp together on her own, getting her teammates involved and advertising it.

In terms of t-shirts there are a couple of options. I do several camps a year so it is important to me that the t-shirts I give out our something that the girls will want to wear to practice and to school so that they are sort of advertising for my future camps. I purchase mine from a website www.TieDyeUsa.Com

Another shirt site that I've used which offers plain t-shirts at a better price is: BlankApparel.com - Wholesale Apparel at discount prices!
