Player Profile Cards?
Our team has summary sheet with each player in the front of the binder. Then a pocket for each player that is labeled with their number that contains their individual sheets. The individuals sheets obviously have more details on the player.- absdad

How many hitting lessons per week?
Once a week is good. Practice just depends on the level they want to play at. If you're playing high level A ball, then you'd better be hitting 6 or 7 days a week. Alot of people may think that is unreasonable. But if you ask the top hitters at the highest levels how much they practice hitting...- absdad

Stuck in the Outfield!
The issue with the OF is that in 10u it's boring. In 12u it sees limited action. By 14u they get to make some plays, and see the necessity of it. By 16u, if you can't dive for a fly ball, you won't cut it. The whole rec ball stigma of "the worst/slowest player goes in the OF" sticks in their...- absdad

DD's team punched their ticket to 16 Gold nationals in Broken Arrow, weekend before last. Was the last team in the winners bracket and lost to a great team in the championship game, and IF game. nervous in the box?!?
My DD sometimes goes through this. Last week her hitting coach had a good 2 hr talk with her about her mental mind melt in the box, and how she approaches her AB's. She needs to have a plan. Watch the pitcher, what does she throw? Fast and overpowering, or avg speed and lots of movement? What...- absdad

Baseball bleachers taken down after ruling that girls softball team's seats must be
My DD's 4A HS team has been to state 3 of the last 4 years (including a championship) and doesn't even have a field of their own. Their only facility which they are "lucky" to have i suppose, is sharing two shoddy batting cages with the baseball team. Baseball has their own field on the school...- absdad

What do you do?
I would imagine that if the NCAA came calling on an AD about some things that were brought to their attention, then the situation would get some light. Doubtful that anything would happen at the school, they'll just bury it and protect their own. It probably needs outside intervention.- absdad

You're so right about that. DD has faced Parker before, since they're on the same HS team. But still a big diff between HS BP and comp ball game day. My DD did pretty good against Nimmo at the Ozark HS tournament in the fall, so who knows. I would love to see your team play them. Would be one...- absdad

High Gate Fees
USSSA tournaments here are typically free, though cost the team nearly twice as much as an ASA tournament. So really, the parents are paying about the same amount if you think about it. The ASA tournaments typically run $4-6/day and sometimes there is a weekend pass if it's a 3 day tournament...- absdad

Open HS tryouts for spectators?
To me, this is the best part of HS softball. I love hearing the stories of how little Princess is getting phone calls from the UCLA coach, or how their TB team is #2 ranked B team in the state. LOL.
