In some cases for players that were heavily recruited I wonder if their “culture shock” is that they’re no longer the best player on the team. Superstars on HS and travel ball but not on a college team filled with superstars. Very hard for some of them to come to terms with…
Not playing much...

Stumbled on this years ago when researching acl injuries. Is there a tie in to this?
….aaaand Im out.
This right here.
Heard it from a youth football ref a long time ago and its stuck with me. First priority that you have as an adult involved with youth sports is the safety of the players.
Risk of broken bones and all that is bad enough...to say nothing about potential concussions/brain...
Related but diverging a bit.
Could the D1 recruiting rule change have impacted the number of freshman we saw hit the portal this year? Are d2 and d3 young players moving around as much?
Compressed window of time for student athlete AND coach to make decisions leading to early portal...
Nah. Leave as is. WCWS or not.
IMO, the payoff of extending blowouts wouldn’t be worth the rare instances of a epic comeback. I prefer the way it is now (run rule wise.)
Fast pitch got a lot of things right in its own way which makes it so appealing. One of those things is the speed of the...
So, what happened to the catcher? Anything? Ump seems to have no problem with it? Coach no problem?
In the 2nd one there’s zero chance that catcher picks that kid at 1b. Clearly looking for the int call imo. Clocking a player in the head at point blank range to get a call? Dunno.
Seems...
1. Ive seen parents rip into their kids between games for a "bad performance" or mistake. Then same kid comes back the following game an emotional train wreck and the performance gets worse. So, Im guessing there are some kids that might appreciate the separation. There are other things too but...
That AJB74 has been around for awhile. I think for good reason. It seems to hit a good value/performance/price point. DD started with hers about the same age yours is now.
At 8 this was the perfect glove for her. Gave her the fit/size/control she needed at a price point that didn't wreck the...
I guess I'm outta date or old fashioned. Unless theres extenuating circumstances regarding safety or well being of dd then I'm most likely to not call or reach out to the HS coach. Much as I wanted to figure out what coach was thinking at times, I resisted calling him/her.
Now, I did offer dd...
Solid advice from Mr AnnasDad.
Point of order though: he seemingly glossed over the fact she got a new glove without asking for glove details. Im slightly alarmed and maybe even disappointed.
Seriously though...congrats on your dd making the TB team. Lots of amazing memories to be made going...
OP...dont think I would have left midseason but I wont judge you for it. I've seen bery similar situations where dad had the kid try to stick it out and it eventually blew up badly with huge drama. Kid and fam left under terrible circumstances.
But..some really good advice in this thread...
Taxpayers subsidize mlb and other pro sports facilities.
Not saying I agree with that practice. However, is there an argument that pro womens sports/facilities should be subsidized equitably as mens? Title 9 kinda flavor?
