Will there be girls that will get an extra year of what ever age class they are in, or will there be girls that will miss and entire year and have to move up earlier? It is my understanding that this will not take effect until next year so If a girl was born Sep - Dec of 2013 will she get an extra year of 10u or will a girl born in Jan - Aug 2014 only get to play one year of 10 u. Or am I completely off. I looked for a chart with ages and dates with appropriate age class and couldn't find one. I also seen somewhere that this would just make everyone have to move up during fall season, which I thought most everyone did anyway. I also see where USSSA said they had no intentions of changing the age rules. I know this shouldn't be this confusing.

Just think of it this of grade level now. If you are supposed to be in 7th or 8th grade that is 14u. 5th and 6th is 12u, etc. Assuming Aug 31 is school cutoff of course..

I think that girls born between September 1 and December 31 could play an additional year in the Division that they are currently in. They can move up as well. This would be for USA Softball. If travel tournaments don’t follow, it will be confusing and it would make some girls ineligible for certain tournaments.

Isn’t 12U going to be 6th-7th grade instead of 5th-6th?
Actually I think you might be right..my fault. My kid’s birthday is Sept 5 2009 and is in her second year of 14u already so she could be the Stetson Bennett of 14u if she wanted to..
