My daughter and her team have been a demarini team for what seems like forever. Recently her Demarini broke at a tournament. No tears here as it was a great bat and we surely got our monies worth. She begins high school this year. My oldest daughter swings a -9 Demarini as well. We were at a huge showcase this summer and everyone had a ghost. Few Demarini's. It makes me think about buying a ghost advanced. Im skeptical about easy breakage. So does the performance outweigh breakage.

To Ghost or not to Ghost....Go!

Does she do well with her DeMarini? If so, why switch? Ghosts have great performance but are not durable. Some people are willing to sacrifice durability for a little more performance. Some people are not willing to do so.

I tell all my clients to just make sure they A) save their receipts. B) save their shipping boxes. C) be prepared to drop money on shipping expenses for potential multiple returns. If you're prepared for that discipline, then try out a Ghost. Go to a local Dick's or another store that will let you try them out first and compare.

She did really well with the Demarini. I had a local dad offer to let us borrow a Ghost Advanced this weekend for our tournament. I told him I was afraid she would break it. He had another ready to go for his daugher in preparation for that. ;/ haha. Thanks for the advice.

Have her swing one at Dicks (or similar store) first. The Ghost will swing heavier than her Demarini because it is end loaded. That may or may not be a big deal to your daughter, but it's better to find out before you spend the money.

My daughter has been swinging Demarini (CF) for the past 3 years. Most of the girls on our team swing a Ghost so I decided to buy a used one to see if she liked it. I was also thinking that because it felt heavier she could use it against slower pitchers to slow down her swing and help her stay back a bit. She still primarily swung her Demarini all year.

Recently, Eastbay had a 40% off sale, so I picked up a Ghost Advanced ridiculously cheap - like one of those you can't afford not to buy it deals. I figured she could use it when the used Ghost I got her breaks.

Think people put too much weight into the brand name. Bats are all pretty darn similar. Marketing is what gets people to believe otherwise. Only difference you find is end weighted compared to even. Otherwise it's the batter, not the bat.

Also most people forget that most credit/debit cards extend a products warranty. Most times it will double it. Just found this out check your credit card debit card company.

Beware anyone who tells you one size fits all. It really depends on what your DD works best with. If she's strong and can handle the end-weighted Ghost go for it, maybe even try a truly end-loaded bat - you get tons of pop out of an end-loaded bat but they can be hard to wield. Girls tend to drop the head. My DD fell for the hype but hits best with an even-loaded bat. After months of trying with the Ghost went back to her LXT. Ghost may be the rage but they do not work for everyone.
