She wasn’t taught to load prior to front foot up that is just what she does. We have been working on hands back/foot forward in same motion we just aren’t there yet. We have not worked on that as much as other parts of the swing. It looks like that needs to be our next objective though.

She isn’t loading the lowerbody or stretching which creates a coil ready to be released. Just like Hank Aaron said in his book, he warned about having to much weight back. Hank said wind it up correctly and it will unwind with lightening speed.

She is only winding the upperbody only. Needs to learn how to use the lowerbody as it pulls the barrel around.

What does she look like when you throw a ball to her? Kids can tend to exaggerate things when hitting off a tee (not that that is ok) I have a feeling she wouldn’t look like that last still if she was hitting a moving ball..
I will have to video a couple swings next time we do some soft toss and see. I would guess she does not rotate her shoulders nearly as much during soft toss.

Get the hands going back when the stride is initiated. Not before. Timing and adjustability issues will always be present otherwise. The sequence needs the correct timing mechanism to be stretched in order and launched wo leaks.

Wonder if hands going back is an optical illusion.

Thigh muscles of stride leg lift the foot - top hand elbow pulls back during stride - hands remain in front of deltoid as the deltoid goes back because of the top hand elbow movement.

?

Edit: This young lady has been picking up a lot of subscribers. Appears the kids are relating to her messages.

I see it as the stride or pelvis advancement retracts the back scap or pulls the hands back if not active too early. Personally like to see the stride initiated by oblique stretch horizontally; vertically the stretch comes full circle from the stride hips/foot dropping which creates an antagonistic response (hands stay up against the hips dropping) and let’s one launch at toe touch or continue to hold until heel drop. I’m probably in the minority there.

Watch the jersey letters transition backwards and forwards. That is the reaction imo. That is the running start I’ve spoke about previously.

Edit: some call it hip coil. I think the hips move bc of oblique coil.

This drill might help a little.
