When your learning HLP often old habits of moving forward too much happens, flips is an exc way of controlling the contact point without the hitter have to go out and reach for the ball. We go forward in the swing but need to launch the barrel deep and move forward as necessary.

More focus on how TTB interact with the rest of the swing.

adjusting to the high and low pitch. Disclaimer not mine or HLP students.

Load, Reach, Shift, Swing
Mainly due to the backside being overloaded during knee lift
She's a great hitter but her swing is going to cause headaches for players/coaches that try to do what she does.
I understand she's not one of yours or an HLP student

If you’re trying to teach this method, several things have to take place simultaneously. The biggest being a consistent launch position without using the arms. We can usually do well off the tee but breakdown with a moving ball. Stop at contact and flips help with the new pattern.

Now we’re blending both the body and hands TTB

When she started full swings she had a lot of misses under. Is that just part of what y’all are working on? How would you address a player that uses HLP but misses under consistently? Looked like pitching machine was running it up there pretty good
