Agree. We lost last night so I’ve got two weeks to make some changes. Gonna start with her knee lift. Gonna work on knee lifting against the belly button to hopefully get some coil and prevent the all forward movement.
Is this something that you can do during off season?

Do you believe that the ‘load’ is just coiling? Or is there more?

Coil n stretch. Basically she has a little drag, a point where the hands go a little dead. No missing frames, loses the backside and any coil. In the 4th dinger clip, the hands work a little late.

Shawn,

All three have a middle out launch. I agree w you that the shoulders/hands need to connect for a bit and then release. I think it’s automatic if you sequence the swing. The little up/back portion w the hands where the shoulders lock onto the torso at the end of this clip seems to be that time. I think you know that. What seems to be lost is when things really amp up and

get going. After the tilt and small turn of the pelvis initiated w the back/front knee while the hands stay up/back. From there contract the core like Ted is doing.

It’s not just the core, finishing off the stretch that maintains the connection from the ground. It’s the entire body.

Been working on a few tweaks. I am noticing that focusing on the coil of the upper, during the stride, and continuing to coil/hold coil is helping with stride length and energy leaking. Been able to side toss flipping it a little deeper. She certainly wants to push forward with her rear foot but the upper coil seems to be keeping her in a better launch position. Got a 16U showcase this weekend. Will get some vids to see any progress. Probably not a lot yet.

For me this is enough stretch. I wouldn’t fall in love w too much negative coil. Barry says he keeps his hands up. That’s how I like to create it.
