It’s a good reason to do so. Fastpitch reaction times from a young age are shorter all the way up to the pros.

So eventually the pitching gets really good and seeing it deeper is ideal. Backside line drives are the goal mostly when getting older. But with the timing constraints and the bat speed girls can generally generate you gotta shorten up. It’s not an oppo approach physically but a oppo approach timing wise. Adjust from there.
We have used that mental approach. Hammer it down the right field line. Then she fly’s out to right field and says I did what you said 😬
Happened the first time we used it about a year ago.

She understands now that it is simply mental (timing) approach. Had to explain to her that you will not actually hammer it down the right field line but you will smoke it to the LCF gap. It’s a timing que.

I would love to be privy to what they actually say when they walk by the on-deck batter and whisper in there ear after striking out.

Not ground breaking.. things like ‘it’s right there’ or ‘she has weird spin’ or ‘she’s faster than she looks’ are the ones I remember at that age.😆

You were a 14YO girl at some point ?Interesting..😝

Agree. We lost last night so I’ve got two weeks to make some changes. Gonna start with her knee lift. Gonna work on knee lifting against the belly button to hopefully get some coil and prevent the all forward movement.

Based on the recent clip the forward movement isn't a problem.. She maintains the rear leg/hip relationship before launch.. She gets the shift out of the way which is a good thing..

I would just be careful of breaking a solid sequence of movements.
