What I see impactful about this is that even programs like Oklahoma utilize more than just big hitters to win. That part of playing the game is knowing through experience ( Patti G. Played 3rd at Long Bch State) it's hard to defend what you don't know what a player is going to do. Drop down a bunt, slap it into the ground or drive it to the outfield. It is a mental torture for the defense. Added by the element of speed.

Individual stats...
Get to see how contributions to producing add up in team stats.

Interesting cuz somebody could have a really great slugging percentage but a much lower on base percentage.

Looking at the team leaders page, a strategy does emerge.

(In no particular order)

I watched one of the most dangerous triple threat slappers in the country play a lot last spring. She made a difference in most games. She played in a different conference but she would still be behind three of these players in OPS. And she stood vary tall on her team and in her conference. Oklahoma is absolutely incredible when you look at the numbers.

When I look at individual stats, all of the regular players at Oklahoma would be impact players pretty much anywhere they went.

Here is another little tidbit that occurred while watching games.

A player hit a homerun. As she was approaching stepping on home plate. Before reaching the plate she started to do a little footwork jig and dance in celebration of her achievement. There were at least eight college coaches watching (we were standing amongst each other)
and I glanced around at their faces...
several coaches definitely looked unimpressed and a couple looked at each other expressing the look of dissatisfaction.

Just commenting on that here because for the players that I know and get to be included in conversations about wanting to be a good Prospect for colleges...
Will confirmingly say
do NOT do celebratory dancing while on the field, especially before you touch the plate.

Can you tell me which coaches so my DD and I don’t waste our time contacting them?
