Awesome thread.

I’m just going through some of the stats. One of the big names on team Mex was pretty underwhelming.

Salling looks incredibly strong/lean.

I knew I've seen that move before on the bottom clip. I've learned a lot from Matt Nokes (some may disagee with his method): He talks the entire video about the subject but it can be summed up in the first 50 seconds. Of course others have done it to.

Maybe that's what she is trying to feel. In that bottom clip.

Just sayin, he doesn't understand no-stride hitting LOL.

Chehalis, Wa

It might be awhile my internet is down, tech support is a ways off. Going to switch to faster cable, on the 3rd of August. So, I can’t do anything on the laptop until then. My phone isn’t really fast at my house. It’s fast when I go into town or the gym. I don’t think a hot spot will work very well at home.

🤷‍♂️ Maybe not but I think he did alright on the pre-stride even though he doesn't call it that.
He's making the assumption that pre and no stride hitters are ABAF... he keeps talking about hip slide being part of the swing. The hips do not slide, pre and no stride hitters with proper sequence both get to FYB, same as hitters who stride.

Sorry off topic here Clem, I just thought it was worth mentioning because it is a little misleading in the vid

If that's what its called hip slide, then OK. All I know is that he tends to really emphasize timing. In the sense that weight shift has to happen on time (Whether that is back to middle, or middle to forward or what have you) and I 100% agree. Not early, not late, on time. He certainly doesn't advocate ABAF. He talks forward move only (Reminds me of Latta approach) and the legs being anchors (He calls the engine mounts) in which the core is the engine. Which fits in with how I currently view the swing. The way I took the no stride part was that pre-stride or no stride still have to make a weight shift (Which is true), so you still have to deal with timing as if you were to stride. All the videos I've watched of him, he tends to really view the "Hip Slide"/Shift is into a closed front hip that by his terms "Locks in place" which keeps one from flying open as the core is firing.

I could of misunderstood, but it sounded to me like her was saying no-stride = shift and swing at the same time. I could be wrong. Good video for sure (y)

Wait, are you saying a former major league baseball player doesn't understand the swing?

That's a joke. Couldn't resist. Carry on.
He understands the swing alright, just not no-stride IMO. Like Clem said it could be he was just making a comment about timing, not the swing itself. Funny joke, but I was expecting it from one of you ;)
