TY for the post. Really not a bad swingYou will likely get tons of responses with very high-level detailed feedback.

just based on a quick view the biggest opportunity for improvement in my opinion is that a pullback in her upper body is lacking.
Below is a video that explains more.

I see what you mean by not pulling back. Thanks

Oldie but goodie. If she had a little more hip flexion/spine tilt/ chest over the plate posture her swing would naturally become more down to and up through giving her that lift she is looking for.

LOL, just about to post this as a suggestion.

why do you think it’s a pull back issue. Not disagreeing. Just wondering what the cause could be.

she's casting her hands and releasing the barrel early causing those grounders but a lot of that is tee placement. You've given her no choice but to do that with your tee placement if she wants to hit the ball up the middle. Put the tee further in front of her. Put it even or a little in front of her lead foot. Then she should keep the barrel loaded longer before release.

i see a cast as well.

I see a armsy swing.. not utilizing her body. That's why the Justin Stone video(which is easy to follow) should help some and is a good place to start.

IMO :)

In my humble opinion she is launching her upper body and lower body at the same time which tends to create a little bit of a downward angle.

Looks like hands/upper body start their move forward before front foot even gets down. Not a lot of stretch is created and seems that everything ends up coming forward at once.

yeah I see it the same way. Can’t hold onto the stretch so the compensation is to bring it forward together. If the energy can be held onto until foot down this would be a better swing. How would you address this?

edit: how would the pull back help? Do you think that’s what’s causing the lack of stretch?

I like the tee or heavy bag drill where they start with the right foot forward in their stance and really focus on coiling. That kind of exaggerates a pull back to get the feel.

I’m not a giant fan of breaking the swing down into parts, but a 1-2-3 drill where the sequence is broken into smaller parts might help.

Perhaps using a connection ball on the back arm to help promote that feeling of the pull back and not letting that back elbow be the first part to move.

I try to describe the pull back to the girls as setting up to throw a punch. Sounds funny and they get a kick out of it but it seems to makes sense to them and stick.
