With DD being a '21 this is the first year we have known or played with a huge group of kids that are playing in college. Trying to find streams is tough at times. One girl is playing her freshman year at Itawamba CC in Mississippi. This little Juco has better streaming ability than mosts D1's. They live stream sports over 2 "channels" and have announcers.

Yes! Even if they got a chance to chat with a few.... there is funny stuff going on with every team. These kids have personality and they will tell you stuff if you have a chance to talk to them.

I'd like to see more of this in softball coverage. A lot of these girls are hilarious. Some of the cr*p they have going on in the dugout cracks me up.

On SEC network yesterday, they aired the Tennessee/Miami of Ohio game with NO commentary. Nothing. Just the game itself. WTF? Does the SEC spend SO much on football that softball doesn't even get announcers anymore? Or did the announcers get COVID and just not show up? And can we talk about how bad the camera angle is for many of these broadcasts? It's impossible to see what's going on behind the plate at the Alabama field because home plate is in the dark (literally). Can we please invest some money in softball if we're going to show it on TV?
I actually like a game with no announcers but I need a score on the screen.

DD and I watched at least part or all of 4 or 5 games this weekend on the ESPN app. The quality difference was crazy. Agree that the Alabama shadows really sucked.

However the best quality this weekend was watching UT v Wichita St and OSU v TAMU CC yesterday live at the Scrap Yard. The best seats in the house were for OSU game because we pulled our lawn chairs right up to the net above the entrance to OSU dugout. DD have a blast listening to the between inning banter and talks. That was super cool for a 12 Y/O.

...Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass. Issued a free pass...

Listening to HS playoff game on the radio, probably just grabbed someone's mom with no radio experience to do play-by-play:
"Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...Heere's the pitch...
With voice inflection to drop down on "Here's" and brought back up on "pitch."
EVERY. DARN. PITCH. For the whole game.

On one hand I am very appreciative of getting the coverage!

I do want pros and prospective pro announcers to do better. I wonder if they get feedback like this...

Is there an NCAA rule prohibiting live streaming games?

This is a good question, and I would assume that teams in conferences that have their own channels in partnership with ESPN like SEC Network and ACC Network have restrictions about what they are able to live stream.

But outside of the P5, I don’t think there are many broadcasting agreements that would preclude a school from streaming.

Scrolling through Flosoftball’s upcoming schedule, they have a combination of tournaments and individual games, which makes me think they have worked out licensing agreements with some of the host teams.

I know auburn's game two Saturday's ago wasn't able to be streamed and they said on their Facebook page that they were unable to stream it.
Coastal Carolina had a service that they used for a nominal fee last year to stream Didn't see it this year. There must be some rules around it.
