The dufuss behind the plate has gotta be the pitcher's Dad. lol ;)
I went back and double checked, and no, it wasn't. The following two at bats, yes

I feel the need to defend that gentleman a little. I totally get it from the outside looking in, but he has been an incredible coach and a very, very good friend. Our dynamic is different from much TB, and he would do anything for my two daughters (I have another on the team, her swings will be here soon lol), as well as anyone else he coaches. He has proved to me time and time again there is nothing more important than their development on and off the field.

That said aside, again, I totally get the dufus perception

She looked pretty good. Really not a fair chance there. And I agree that a lower tee would be wise if she's gonna do a lot of tee work.

Also, My DD faced something kind of similar in practice. She had 2 foul balls and probly 7 or 8 balls on her. Then she chased one way outta the zone and she was "out". I wouldnt worry too much about it.
Thanks bonesaw. You recommended the low tee way back after my very first post. We worked some this evening.

Let me ask you this. The last month she seems to really fall out of posture when her shoulders get upside down at toe touch, kind of arching her back even. Any fear that will worsen with a low tee? Or am I thinking of this wrong?

That is more than likely the result of her reaching too much with the front leg..I am the world's foremost expert in that. Low tee won't do anything to worsen that ..or help it either..lol.

I asked my DD about a tile that she overcame fear and how that made her feel. Then related that to hitting. Think about how proud of yourself you will be once you dig in and take your cuts without backing up.

@Gags - the “strike 3 your outta there” is just awful. I assume his daughter is the pitcher.

Lately we have been talking about how in basketball and soccer she wants the ball in critical times, and that this is a moment to "have the ball."

I'll work on relating overcoming a previous fear. She's a bright kid, she gets it, just has to fight.

Is this her first time facing live pitching this year? Just keep working and when she faces live just tell her to go up there and crush the ball..she will be fine.I wouldn't talk about the fear thing..

Not that this is going to make @Borrowingminds feel any better but his kid reminds me of Marcela. She never leg kicked until she starting facing live pitching. First tournament of 10U it showed up on its own and for the most part it has stayed in one form or another ever since I could be wrong but I don't remember @Borrowingminds DD leg kicking in any previous videos. I do agree that it will take a bit more time for her to get the timing down with it.

Minus the timing aspect of it, @Borrowingminds DD actually does a better job with it then Marcela does right now...

Funny, she has sometimes a little, but never this prominent. I thought she was maintaining some balance with it, and I'm good with it, but she was quite off as Towny mentioned.

And if she follows some in Marcela's steps, I'm totally cool with that! I'm a big fan of how hard she attacks the ball.

Yes, this is the first time vs live pitching this year. Last year was a strange year, but she had plenty of opportunity to get comfortable vs it. I didn't work with her too much to have a plan. I'm optimistic.
