I can tell you first hand that Major League hitters, Albert Pujols, A-Rod and Manny actively focus on lead arm pull to stay in sync with the shoulders.

Hit Dr-

assuming MLB pattern.

I think when MLB hitters think of pull, it is similar to the way Lau Jr describes it which is emphasis on pulling the knob with hands/lead arm and NOT shoulder.

Synch is fine, but synch that keeps shoulder IN not synch that forces shoulder to fly by trying to use the shoulder to pull.

The pull is from the hips firing and working the stretch up the torso.

trying to turn or pull with the shoulders lowers resistance and "rushes"/interrupts the torso loading and forces flying open/pulling off the ball.

if you turn rather than tilt the shoulders, you create slack or dampen the last quick coil/load/cusp.

Slack/lack of cusp prevents rapid and spatially early acceleration of bathead.

That's why MLB hitters describe feel as hips and hands, not anything about shoulders except keeping them in there/not flying open.

I understand the need to keep the lead forearm in sync with the shoulders. But just to be clear, no one is suggesting that ML hitters consciously pull the knob with the lead arm to create bat speed, correct?

I have heard that some hitters will create some tension in the lead forearm to prevent barring.

Doesn't matter Tom. You are going to say what you say regardless. I gave up long ago on good faith debate or discussion with you. I'm satisfied as long as people know you apparently do not try your theories in the real world by actually teaching kids to hit.
