I am looking for some advice on my DD’s slight crowhop that she has developed. Why it may be happening and suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks in advance.
I will say only one slight thing that hurts her drive a little. Her back foot is actually too far back. Four to six inches behind the rubber would be fine. When she leans her CHEST should be over her front knee, and knee bent! It will give her more push/speed off the rubber, but I see no crow-hop and very little leap. The leap is defined as the foot leaving the ground higher than that worn groove in front of the rubber. The girls can't follow every nuance of the terrain created by foot drag. When on dirt she will be fine.
Here are two fine videos by Amanda Scarborough on the pitcher's stance. I suggest you use the "start-back" form which will keep your DD in compliance with pretty much every association.
