Shawn,

I just don’t think that posture sets the plane of the swing. I think the hands do for most players. The shoulders will react to this and help to maintain what the hands want. Posture is important to keep the integrity of the swing plane. As well as having a dynamic swing plane.

I agree you just can’t set the posture and have a good swing plane. The hands are important. The hands send the barrel into the torso/posture vector. It can be looked at as an geometry problem.

Ok, there is a major difference in the Reynolds demo and this swing. The hitter is using the hands early (TTB) and Harold is sliding the hands through and using them late or out front.

yeah. But I’m talking in terms of path. Both tight and down. Harolds demo is missing the ‘planing’ aspect, I think bc there is no ball.

Hands staying in the plane of the shoulders, they stay inline of the shoulders/posture. Send the barrel down.

So if the pitch is down and in hes gonna point his shoulder plane at it? Do you have any down and in pitches on anyone? I'm skeptical as to whether the lines would line up like that.

Edit: I found this of Trout. Looks a little under to me but I guess its pretty close.
