The 1b mitt came. I concur with Tams It is stiffffff. I cant really fit my hand in the stall. Pretty tight.

Here it is compared to a (broken in) rawlings dct. I think it will open up nicely. Should be fun for dd to break it in.

Did it gain much weight from the steam process? Curious when you say it's heavy, do you have an actual weight? How are the finger (and especially the thumb) stalls (sizewise and stiffness)? I came real close to grabbing one of these (is the deal still open?).

No it was heavy out the box. My daughter had a hard time getting her hands in it....it seemed the hand stall was too small.....then after the steaming still the same with the hand stall she can barely get her hands in it. Maybe after using it a few times it will fit better.....she has catching workout on Friday hopefully it will get a little better..... Before steaming she couldn't do anything with the glove......after steaming she was a squeeze it closed...but it wasn't easy.......its a really really stiff glove......

Haha theyre purists who dont like steaming. Dont worry about it, nothing is "ruined".

There seems to be a lot of padding around the handstall of these(padding where the wool is on rawlings on the inside of the handstall). I think it's designed that way to form to the hand of the player!(Im not sticking my fat hand in there)

The break in might take a little longer but that is a good thing imo. Get the breaks right and then pound the hinge/hinges. Really work the hinge/wrist area itll loosen up. If you need the glove ready tomorrow you might have to take more measures than just playing catch.

Hope your DD likes it, its a beaut.

No it was the 40 year old store manager. Is there something wrong with getting a glove steamed??? Did I mess something up?
There’s plenty written here about DSG’s death box, it’s like water boarding a glove to death!

Don’t sweat it, you didn’t spend a ton on this mitt! If you would have reached out, I would have happily helped you properly break it in the slow, old fashioned, last forever way!

If you would have paid full MSRP and had them steam it, I would have rounded up a crew here to come and have an ugly talk with you!

Quit being so nice, this was the perfect opportunity to scare the crap out of the new guy!

Plus, you know steaming a glove is just wrong!

Haha! Soorrrryyyy.

Ya I'm not a steamer but I think if there was a glove that *maybe* could use it it would be these! Especially if a young girl is trying to use it in the next month! They are really stiff. I've had my hands on a few HOH and A2000 recently and these are really quite stiff.

But your'e right, steam us unnecessary and a risk(see 19 y/o shoe stocker). But Tams's will be A ok imo.

Tams. Really work in the heel of that glove and your DD should be able to do the rest.

And keep your big dad paws out of her mitt!!
My DD asked.....will someone put there hands in my glove when it goes for steaming. I said no.....she said good and you keep your hands out of it......I want it to fit like my other glove....

So no fat paw daddy hands have been in it....only her tiny 11 year old hands......

My DD got one of the palmetto series gloves and was excited because it’s the first glove that fits her small hand right. I think the padding in yours will “mold” some like hers did after some use and sweating inside it.
